Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ WHEN THE SKY is cleft asunder, 1 and when the stars are scattered; 2 And when the seas are flowed out, 3 and when the graves are overturned 4 Each soul shall know that which it sent afore and that which it left behind. 5 O man, what seduced you from your munificent Lord 6 who has created thee, and formed thee in accordance with what thou art meant' to be, and shaped thy nature in just proportions, 7 and set you in whatever form He pleased? 8 Rather, you belied the Recompense. 9 Surely there are guardians over you, 10 Kind and honourable,- Writing down (your deeds): 11 They know whatsoever ye do. 12 The pious will surely be in heaven, 13 The wicked certainly in Hell: 14 Roasted they shall be therein on the Day of Requital. 15 nor shall they ever be absent from it. 16 And what can make you know what is the Day of Recompense? 17 Again: what will make you realize what the Day of Judgement will be? 18 On that day, no soul will be of any benefit to any other soul. On that day, all affairs will be in the hands of God. 19
