Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the Sky is cleft asunder; 1 and when the stars are scattered; 2 when the seas overflow; 3 when the graves are overturned, 4 Each soul shall know that which it sent afore and that which it left behind. 5 O Man! What deceived thee as to thy generous Lord 6 who created you, fashioned you and proportioned you, 7 in whatever composition He wanted. 8 Even then you deny the Judgement. 9 And indeed there are some guardians over you. 10 Kiraman (honourable) Katibin writing down (your deeds). 11 They know (and understand) all that ye do. 12 Lo! the righteous verily will be in delight. 13 whereas, behold, the wicked will indeed be in a blazing fire 14 Roasted they shall be therein on the Day of Requital. 15 and from it they shall never be absent. 16 What could let you know what the Day of Recompense is! 17 And once again: What could make thee conceive what that Judgment Day will be? 18 The day on which no soul shall control anything for (another) soul; and the command on that day shall be entirely Allah's. 19
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
