Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven splits open. 1 And when the stars fall down. 2 and when the seas burst beyond their bounds, 3 And when the graves are laid open, 4 Every soul will come to know what it has sent ahead and what it left behind. 5 O man! What has deceived you about your generous Lord 6 who has created thee, and formed thee in accordance with what thou art meant' to be, and shaped thy nature in just proportions, 7 In whatsoever form He listed He constructed thee. 8 Nay! But you deny the Recompense (reward for good deeds and punishment for evil deeds). 9 Lo! there are above you guardians, 10 Kind and honourable,- Writing down (your deeds): 11 aware of whatever you do! 12 The virtuous ones will live in bliss 13 The wicked certainly in Hell: 14 They will enter it on the Day of Justice. 15 And thence they shall not be allowed to be absent. 16 And what will make you know what the Day of Recompense is? 17 Again would that you only knew how terrible it really is! 18 (It will be) the Day when no soul shall have power (to do) aught for another: For the command, that Day, will be (wholly) with Allah. 19
