Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ WHEN THE SKY is split asunder, 1 And when the stars become dispersed, 2 the oceans are merged together, 3 and when the graves are overturned 4 the soul shall know what it has done, the former and the latter. 5 O man! What is it that lures you away from your bountiful Sustainer, 6 Who created thee, then moulded thee, then proportioned thee? 7 and composed thee after what form He would? 8 Nay! but you give the lie to the judgment day, 9 And indeed there are some guardians over you. 10 noble scribes 11 Knowing all what you may do. 12 Surely the virtuous shall be in Bliss, 13 And indeed the sinners are in hell. 14 They will burn therein on the Day of Judgment, 15 And thence they shall not be allowed to be absent. 16 What do you know what the Day of Recompense is? 17 Again would that you only knew how terrible it really is! 18 It will be a Day when no human being shall be of the least avail to any other human being, God [alone] will hold command on that Day. 19
