Al-Infitaar
Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ When the heavens are rent asunder, 1 the stars are dispersed, 2 when the seas swarm over, 3 and when the graves are laid open: 4 (Then) a person will know what he has sent forward and (what he has) left behind (of good or bad deeds). 5 O man! What has deceived you about your generous Lord 6 Who created thee, then moulded thee, then proportioned thee? 7 In whatever form He willed has He assembled you. 8 Nay, but ye deny the Judgment. 9 And yet, verily, there are ever-watchful forces over you, 10 noble scribes 11 They know (and understand) all that ye do. 12 The virtuous ones will live in bliss 13 and the evil-doers will be in hell 14 roasting therein on the Day of Doom, 15 And they (Al-Fujjar) will not be absent therefrom (i.e. will not go out from the Hell). 16 Ah, what will convey unto thee what the Day of Judgment is! 17 Again, what shall teach thee what is the Day of Doom? 18 It is a Day whereon no soul shall own aught of power for any soul; and the command on that Day will be Allah's. 19
