Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ When the sky is split, 1 And when the stars shall be scattered, 2 When the seas are poured forth, 3 and when graves are laid open, 4 then a soul shall know its works, the former and the latter. 5 O man! What has made you careless concerning your Lord, the Most Generous? 6 Who created you, shaped you, and made you well-proportioned, 7 In whatever form He willed has He assembled you. 8 Rather, you belied the Recompense. 9 And indeed, [appointed] over you are keepers, 10 noble, writers 11 who know what you do. 12 Indeed, the righteous will be in pleasure, 13 and the evil-doers will be in hell 14 roasting therein on the Day of Doom, 15 nor shall they ever be absent from it. 16 And what will make you know what the Day of Recompense is? 17 Again, what do you know what the Day of Recompense is? 18 It is the Day when a soul will not possess for another soul [power to do] a thing; and the command, that Day, is [entirely] with Allah. 19
