The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Woe to those that deal in fraud,- 1 Those who, when they take by measure from mankind, exact the full, 2 but when they measure or weigh, give less. 3 Do they not think that they will be called to account?- 4 on a Great Day, 5 A Day whereon mankind shall stand before the Lord of the worlds? 6 Nay, but the record of the vile is in Sijjin - 7 And what could make thee conceive what that that mode inescapable will be? 8 The record is a sealed text. 9 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 10 Those who belie the Day of Requital. 11 And none can deny it except every transgressor beyond bounds, (in disbelief, oppression and disobedience of Allah, the sinner!) 12 When Our revelations are conveyed to him, he says, "Fables of the ancients!" 13 No! Rather, the stain has covered their hearts of that which they were earning. 14 Yes indeed – they will be deprived of seeing their Lord on that day. 15 Then indeed they have to enter hell. 16 and be told: "This is the [very thing] to which you were wont to give the lie!" 17 Nay, verily the record of the Righteous is (preserved) in 'Illiyin. 18 And what will make you know what the highest Iliyin is? 19 A Register inscribed. 20 Those who are drawn near (to Allah) shall witness it. 21 Verily the pious will be in heaven, 22 On thrones, looking (at all things). 23 You will recognise the freshness of serenity on their faces. 24 They shall be given to drink of a wine that is sealed, 25 The last of it is musk. So for this let the competitors compete. 26 And it is mixed with Tasneem. 27 a fountain at which do drink those brought nigh. 28 Lo! the guilty used to laugh at those who believed, 29 And wink one to another when they passed them; 30 And when they returned to their own followers they returned exulting. 31 On seeing the believers, they would say, "These people have gone astray". 32 Whereas they were not sent over them as watchers. 33 So today those who believe shall laugh at the unbelievers; 34 as they sit on couches, gazing around. 35 The infidels have indeed been rewarded for that which they had been doing. 36
