The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Woe to those that deal in fraud,- 1 Who, when they take a measure from people, take in full. 2 But when they have to give by measure or weight to men, give less than due. 3 Do they not think that they will be resurrected 4 On a grievous day, 5 the Day when people will stand before the Lord of the Worlds? 6 Nay! most surely the record of the wicked is in the Sijjin. 7 And what do you know, how (wretched) the Sijjeen is! 8 it is a written record. 9 Woe on that Day to those who belied it, 10 and those who have rejected the Day of Judgment. 11 No one denies it except for the evil aggressor. 12 When Our Signs are rehearsed to him, he says, "Tales of the ancients!" 13 Nay, but their hearts are corroded by all [the evil] that they were wont to do! 14 Yes indeed – they will be deprived of seeing their Lord on that day. 15 Then most surely they shall enter the burning fire. 16 and it will be said to them: 'This is that which you belied' 17 By no means! Verily the record of the virtuous shall be in 'Illiyun. 18 And what will make you know what 'Illiyyun is? 19 It is a comprehensively written Book (of records). 20 Which is witnessed by those brought near [to Allah]. 21 Behold, [in the life to come] the truly virtuous will indeed be in bliss: 22 On thrones, they shall gaze; 23 You will recognize in their faces the brightness of bliss. 24 Their thirst will be slaked with Pure Wine sealed: 25 With a sealing of musk, which those who aspire for the best should desire, -- 26 a wine whose mixture is Tasnim, 27 A spring whereof drink those nearest to Allah. 28 The sinners had been laughing at the believers. 29 when they passed by them they winked, 30 And when they went back to their people turned to make fun of them; 31 And when they saw them, they said: "They have indeed gone astray." 32 No one has appointed them to watch over the believers. 33 so today those who believe shall [be able to] laugh at those who denied the truth 34 as they (recline) upon their couches and gaze (around them). 35 Have the unbelievers been rewarded for what they did? 36
