The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Woe to those who are fraudulent in (weighing and measuring), 1 Those who when they take the measure from mankind demand it full, 2 But when they have to give by measure or weight to men, give less than due. 3 Do those not think that they shall be raised up 4 For a mighty day, 5 A Day whereon mankind shall stand before the Lord of the worlds? 6 Woe to them! Let them know that the records of the sinner's deeds are in Sijin. 7 What could let you know what the Sijjeen is! 8 It is [their destination recorded in] a register inscribed. 9 Woe on that Day unto the beliers 10 Those who deny the Day of Judgment 11 And none can deny it except every transgressor beyond bounds, (in disbelief, oppression and disobedience of Allah, the sinner!) 12 When Our Verses (of the Quran) are recited to him he says: "Tales of the ancients!" 13 Nay, but their hearts are corroded by all [the evil] that they were wont to do! 14 No indeed; but upon that day they shall be veiled from their Lord, 15 Then, verily they will indeed enter and taste the burning flame of Hell. 16 It will then be said, “This is what you used to deny.” 17 Nay! Verily, the Record (writing of the deeds) of Al-Abrar (the pious who fear Allah and avoid evil), is (preserved) in 'Illiyyun. 18 Ah, what will convey unto thee what 'Illiyin is! - 19 It is [their destination recorded in] a register inscribed 20 To which bear witness those nearest (to Allah, i.e. the angels). 21 Lo! the righteous verily are in delight, 22 On couches face to face. 23 Thou wilt recognize in their faces the brightness of delight. 24 They will be served a drink of the finest sealed wine, 25 its seal is musk, for this let the competitors compete; 26 and its mixture is Tasneem, 27 A spring, from (the waters) whereof drink those Nearest to Allah. 28 Those in sin used to laugh at those who believed, 29 And whenever they passed by them, used to wink at each other (in mockery); 30 and whenever they return to people of their own kind, they return full of jests; 31 On seeing the believers, they would say, "These people have gone astray". 32 Yet they were not sent as watchers over them. 33 On the Day of Judgment, the believers will laugh at the disbelievers 34 On high thrones, watching. 35 Have the unbelievers been rewarded what they were doing? 36
