The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven is sundered. 1 and hearkens to the command of its Lord, doing what it should; 2 And when the earth is stretched forth, 3 and casts out what is within it and is emptied, 4 And attentive to her Lord in fear! 5 Thou, verily, O man, art working toward thy Lord a work which thou wilt meet (in His presence). 6 Then as for him who is given his book in his right hand, 7 His account shall presently be taken by an easy reckoning. 8 And will return to his people full of joy. 9 but as for him whose record shall be given to him from behind his back, 10 he shall call for destruction 11 And [enter to] burn in a Blaze. 12 They lived among their people joyfully 13 and had thought that they would never be brought back to life again. 14 Yea! his Lord had ever been beholding him. 15 So I swear by the twilight glow 16 by the night and what it covers, 17 And by the moon when she is at the full, 18 That you shall most certainly enter one state after another. 19 So, wherefore do they not believe? 20 And when the Qur'an is recited to them, they do not prostrate [to Allah]? ۩ 21 Instead, the unbelievers reject it, calling it a lie. 22 Yet God has full knowledge of what they conceal [in their hearts]. 23 So give them tidings of a painful punishment, 24 Except those who believed and did good deeds – for them is a reward that will never end. 25
