The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ WHEN THE SKY is cleft asunder, 1 and obeys its Lord as it must, 2 And when the earth is spread out. 3 and casts out all that is within it and becomes empty; 4 And it listens to the command of its Lord – and that befits it. 5 O man, indeed you have to surely run towards your Lord, and to meet him. 6 Then he who is given his Record in his right hand, 7 He truly will receive an easy reckoning 8 and he will return to his family joyfully. 9 But he who is given his Record behind his back,- 10 Will pray for death, 11 but he will enter the blazing flame. 12 He once lived among his family joyfully; 13 thinking he would never revert (to Us). 14 Surely yes, why not? Indeed his Lord is seeing him. 15 I swear by the twilight; 16 And the night and that which it drives on, 17 and the moon, as it grows to its fullness: 18 You shall certainly travel from stage to stage (in this life and in the Hereafter). 19 What aileth them then, that they believe not, 20 and when the Koran is recited to them they do not bow? ۩ 21 Indeed, those who are bent on denying the truth reject it -- 22 And Allah knows best what they gather (of good and bad deeds), 23 So give them tidings of a painful doom, 24 But for those who believe and do good works; for them there shall be a never-ending reward. 25
