The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the sky has split [open] 1 obeying its Sustainer, as in truth it must; 2 And when the earth has been extended 3 And casts forth what is in it and becomes empty, 4 and obeys its Lord as it must, 5 O mankind, indeed you are laboring toward your Lord with [great] exertion and will meet it. 6 Then as to him who is given his book in his right hand, 7 Soon will his account be taken by an easy reckoning, 8 and will [be able to] turn joyfully to those of his own kind. 9 But he who is given his Book from behind his back 10 He will invoke (his) destruction, 11 And [enter to] burn in a Blaze. 12 He verily lived joyous with his folk, 13 He verily deemed that he would never return (unto Allah). 14 But he will indeed! His Lord was ever watching him. 15 I swear by the glow of sunset, 16 by the night and what it covers, 17 And [by] the moon when it becomes full 18 you will progress from stage to stage. 19 What aileth them then, that they believe not, 20 Why, when the Quran is recited to them, do they not prostrate themselves? ۩ 21 Instead, the unbelievers reject it, calling it a lie. 22 but God knows best whatever they accumulate in their hearts. 23 So announce to them a painful torment. 24 except the righteously striving believers, who will receive a never-ending reward. 25
