The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ WHEN THE SKY is cleft asunder, 1 And hearkens to its Lord and is dutiful, 2 And when the earth is spread out. 3 And casts forth what is within it and becomes (clean) empty, 4 And obeys its Lord and it must. 5 O man! verily thou art toiling toward thy Lord a painful toiling, and art about to meet Him. 6 Whoever is given the Record in his right hand 7 He will be judged with an easy account 8 and he will return to his family joyfully. 9 but as for him whose record shall be given to him from behind his back, 10 he will pray for utter destruction 11 And [enter to] burn in a Blaze. 12 He lived rejoicing among his people, 13 He verily deemed that he would never return (unto Allah). 14 Why not? His Lord was always watching him. 15 I do not need to swear by the sunset, 16 And the night and that which it drives on, 17 And the Moon in her fullness: 18 you will progress from stage to stage. 19 What is the matter with them, that they do not believe 20 When the Quran is read to them, why do they not fall to their knees? ۩ 21 Yea those who disbelieve belie. 22 And Allah is most knowing of what they keep within themselves. 23 So give them good tidings of a painful chastisement, 24 Except for those who believe and do righteous deeds. For them is a reward uninterrupted. 25
