The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ When the sky has split [open] 1 and obeys its Lord as it must, 2 And when the earth is stretched, 3 and casts out what is within it and is emptied, 4 in obedience to the commands of its Lord which are incumbent on it, (the human being will receive due recompense for his deeds). 5 O thou man! Verily thou art ever toiling on towards thy Lord- painfully toiling,- but thou shalt meet Him. 6 Then whoso is given his account in his right hand 7 Soon an easy account will be taken from him. 8 and will [be able to] turn joyfully to those of his own kind. 9 but as for him whose record shall be given to him from behind his back, 10 he will pray for utter destruction 11 And he shall roast into a Blaze. 12 He lived rejoicing among his people, 13 thinking he would never revert (to Us). 14 But yes! Indeed, his Lord was ever of him, Seeing. 15 Oh, I swear by the afterglow of sunset, 16 And the night and all it gathers, 17 And the Moon in her fullness: 18 You will surely go up level by level. 19 What is the matter with them that they do not accept faith? 20 and when the Koran is recited to them they do not bow? ۩ 21 No, the unbelievers only belie, 22 Allah knows best what they are accumulating (in their Record). 23 So announce to them a painful punishment~ 24 Except to those who believe and work righteous deeds: For them is a Reward that will never fail. 25
