A 'araaf (Al-A 'araaf)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Alif Lam Mim Sad. 1 This Book has been sent down to you; so do not hesitate to warn (the unbelievers) through it, and remind the faithful. 2 Follow what has been sent down to you by your Lord and do not follow any protector other than Him. How seldom you take heed. 3 How many a township We have destroyed! Our scourge fell upon them at night, or when they were taking midday rest. 4 and they but cried, when Our might came upon there, 'We were evildoers.'; 5 We will question those to whom Our Message was sent, as We shall question the Messengers. 6 Then We will surely relate [their deeds] to them with knowledge, and We were not [at all] absent. 7 And the measuring out on that day will be just; then as for him whose measure (of good deeds) is heavy, those are they who shall be successful; 8 and he whose scales are light -- they have lost their soul for wronging Our signs. 9 We have made you inhabit the land and provided you with the means of sustenance. Only a few of you give thanks. 10
