The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the sky containing great stars 1 And by the Promised Day. 2 And by the witnessing day (i.e. Friday), and by the witnessed day [i.e. the day of 'Arafat (Hajj) the ninth of Dhul-Hijjah]; 3 THEY DESTROY [but] themselves, they who would ready a pit 4 Of fire fuel-fed, 5 When they sat by it, 6 And they witnessed (all) that they were doing against the Believers. 7 whom they hate for no other reason than that they believe in God, the Almighty, the One to whom all praise is due, 8 to whom belongs the kingdom of the heavens and the earth. God is witness over all things. 9 Verily, those who put into trial the believing men and believing women (by torturing them and burning them), and then do not turn in repentance, (to Allah), will have the torment of Hell, and they will have the punishment of the burning Fire. 10 As for those who believed and acted righteously, theirs shall be Gardens beneath which rivers flow. That is the great triumph. 11 Verily, (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) the Grip (Punishment) of your Lord is severe. 12 Lo! He it is Who produceth, then reproduceth, 13 and He is the Forgiving and Loving One. 14 Owner of the throne, the Glorious 15 Always doing whatever He wills. 16 Has the story reached you of the hosts, 17 Of Pharaoh and (the tribe of) Thamud? 18 In fact the disbelievers are in denial. 19 But Allah doth encompass them from behind! 20 Nay, this is a Glorious Qur'an, 21 On a guarded tablet. 22
