The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the heavens and al-tariq. 1 Do you know what al-tariq is? 2 It is the star that pierces through [life's] darkness: 3 There is no soul but that it has over it a protector. 4 So let man consider of what he was created; 5 He is created from a drop emitted- 6 Coming from between the back and the ribs. 7 Verily He is Able to restore him, 8 on the Day when consciences are examined, 9 he shall have no power, and no helper. 10 By the heavens, ever-revolving, 11 by earth splitting with verdure, 12 It is surely a decisive utterance; 13 And it is not a frivolity. 14 Indeed the disbelievers carry out their evil schemes. 15 but I too plan against them. 16 So grant the unbelievers a respite: let them alone for a while. 17
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
