The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the sky and the night comer - 1 And what will make you to know what At-Tariq (night-comer) is? 2 The piercing star! 3 For every soul there is a watcher. 4 So let man consider of what he is created: 5 He was created from a fluid, ejected, 6 Issuing from (the pelvis) between the backbone and the ribs. 7 Verily, (Allah) is Able to bring him back (to life)! 8 The Day when secrets will be put on trial, 9 (Man) will have no power, and no helper. 10 By the Firmament which returns (in its round), 11 And [by] the earth which cracks open, 12 Behold this is the Word that distinguishes (Good from Evil): 13 And it is not a frivolity. 14 They are devising guile, 15 And I (too) will make a scheme. 16 So respite thou the infidels - respite them gently, 17
