The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
CONSIDER the heavens and that which comes in the night! 1 And what can make you know what is the night comer? 2 The very brightly shining star! 3 There is not a soul that does not have a guardian over it. 4 So let man consider of what he was created. 5 he was created of gushing water 6 emanating from between the loins and the ribs. 7 Indeed, Allah, to return him [to life], is Able. 8 On the Day when man's deepest secrets shall be put to the test 9 and he shall have no strength, no helper. 10 By the rotating heavens 11 And the earth which opens up (with verdure), 12 this is indeed a Decisive Word, 13 And is not a matter of amusement. 14 As for them, they are but plotting a scheme, 15 But I too am devising a plan. 16 So respite the unbelievers; delay with them awhile. 17
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
