The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the heavens and that which comes in the night -- 1 And what will make you know what the comer by night is? 2 It is the piercing star. 3 There is no living being but there is a protector over it. 4 So let man consider of what he was created. 5 He is created from a drop emitted- 6 Coming from between the back and the ribs. 7 Verily He is Able to restore him, 8 On the Day when secrets are disclosed, 9 and he shall have no strength, no helper. 10 By heaven of the returning rain, 11 And by oath of the earth which flourishes with it. 12 BEHOLD, this [divine writ] is indeed a word that distinguishes between truth and falsehood, 13 it is no merriment. 14 They are devising guile, 15 But I too am devising a plan. 16 So leave the unbelievers to themselves; respite them awhile. 17
God the Almighty always says the truth.
