The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By heaven and the night-star! 1 And what could make thee conceive what it is that comes in the night? 2 (It is) the piercing star. 3 There is no soul which is not guarded (by the two angels who record all of its deeds). 4 So let man see from what he is created! 5 He was created from spurting fluid, 6 which comes out of the loins and ribs. 7 Lo! He verily is Able to return him (unto life) 8 The day all secrets are examined 9 when he will be helpless, with no supporter. 10 By the heaven which returneth, 11 and the replenishing earth, 12 Verily! This (the Quran) is the Word that separates (the truth from falsehood, and commands strict legal laws for mankind to cut the roots of evil). 13 not a flippant jest. 14 Indeed the disbelievers carry out their evil schemes. 15 and so am I: 16 So bear with unbelievers with patience, and give them respite for a while. 17
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
