The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
I swear by the heaven and the comer by night; 1 And what will make you to know what At-Tariq (night-comer) is? 2 The star of piercing brightness; 3 There is no soul which is not guarded (by the two angels who record all of its deeds). 4 LET MAN, then, observe out of what he has been created: 5 He is created from a water gushing forth. 6 That issueth from between the loins and the breast-bones. 7 God has all power to resurrect him. 8 on the Day when all secrets will be laid bare, 9 when he will be helpless, with no supporter. 10 By the sky which returns [rain] 11 And the earth which splitteth (with the growth of trees and plants) 12 Indeed the Qur’an is a decisive Word. 13 and it is certainly not a jest. 14 Verily, they are but plotting a plot (against you O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)). 15 but I too plan against them. 16 Therefore give them some respite give them some time. 17
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
