The Comet (Al-Taareq)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the heaven and the Morning Star 1 and what could make you know what it is that comes in the night? 2 The piercing star! 3 No human soul but hath a guardian over it. 4 Let the human being reflect that from what he has been created. 5 He was created from ejaculated water 6 issuing from between the loins [of man] and the pelvic arch [of woman]. 7 Lo! He verily is Able to return him (unto life) 8 The day all secrets are examined 9 he will have no power, nor anyone to help him. 10 By oath of the sky from which comes down the rain. 11 And by oath of the earth which flourishes with it. 12 Verily! This (the Quran) is the Word that separates (the truth from falsehood, and commands strict legal laws for mankind to cut the roots of evil). 13 it is not a jest. 14 Verily they are plotting a plot. 15 and I too am devising a guile. 16 So respite thou the infidels - respite them gently, 17
