The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the heaven, and the night-visitor, 1 And what shall make thee know that which the night-comer is? 2 (It is) the star of piercing brightness; 3 There is no human being but has a protector over him (or her) (i.e. angels incharge of each human being guarding him, writing his good and bad deeds, etc.) 4 Let the human being reflect that from what he has been created. 5 Created from a gushing fluid. 6 Coming from between the back and the ribs. 7 Verily He is Able to restore him, 8 On the Day when secrets are disclosed, 9 and he shall have no strength, no helper. 10 By the heaven which giveth the returning rain, 11 and the earth, bursting forth with plants! 12 Behold this is the Word that distinguishes (Good from Evil): 13 and it is certainly not a jest. 14 Indeed, they are planning a plan, 15 And I am planning a scheme. 16 So respite thou the infidels - respite them gently, 17
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
