The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the Sky and the Night-Visitant (therein);- 1 what do you know what the night-visitor is? 2 (It is) the piercing star. 3 [for] no human being has ever been left unguarded. 4 So man must consider from what he has been created. 5 He is created from a water dripping, 6 issuing from between the backbone and the breastbone: 7 Surely He (the Creator) has the power to bring him back (to life). 8 On the Day when man's deepest secrets shall be put to the test 9 when he will be helpless, with no supporter. 10 By the rotating heavens 11 And the earth which splits (with the growth of trees and plants), 12 Verily, it is a discourse distinguishing. 13 and is no idle tale. 14 Verily they are plotting a plot. 15 And I plot a plot (against them). 16 Let, then, the deniers of the truth have their will: let them have their will for a little while. 17
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
