The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the heaven and the night-comer 1 And what could make thee conceive what it is that comes in the night? 2 (It is) the piercing star. 3 [for] no human being has been left unguarded. 4 So man must consider from what he has been created. 5 He was created of spurting water 6 That issueth from between the loins and the breast-bones. 7 Surely He (the Creator) has the power to bring him back (to life). 8 upon the day when the secrets are tried, 9 Then man will have no power or any helper. 10 By oath of the sky from which comes down the rain. 11 and the replenishing earth, 12 BEHOLD, this [divine writ] is indeed a word that distinguishes between truth and falsehood, 13 And it is not a thing for amusement. 14 As for them, they are but plotting a scheme, 15 And I (too) will make a scheme. 16 Therefore grant a delay to the Unbelievers: Give respite to them gently (for awhile). 17
True are the words of God the Almighty.
