The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I CALL TO witness the heavens and the night Star -- 1 what do you know what the night-visitor is? 2 It is the piercing star - 3 There is no soul but that it has over it a protector. 4 Let the human reflect of what he is created. 5 He is created of water pouring forth, 6 issuing from between the backbone and the breastbone: 7 Surely He (the Creator) has the power to bring him back (to life). 8 upon the day when the secrets are tried, 9 and [man] will have neither strength nor helper! 10 By the heaven which returneth, 11 And the earth which opens up (with verdure), 12 That this (Qur'an) is a decisive word 13 And it is not amusement. 14 Behold, they [who refuse to accept it] devise many a false argument [to disprove its truth]; 15 And I am planning a scheme. 16 So grant the unbelievers a respite: let them alone for a while. 17
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
