The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the Sky and the Night-Visitant (therein);- 1 And what will explain to thee what the Night-Visitant is?- 2 - The piercing Star! 3 There is no soul but has a protector over it. 4 So let man look - from what is he created. 5 he was created of gushing water 6 issuing from between the loins [of man] and the pelvic arch [of woman]. 7 Verily, (Allah) is Able to bring him back (to life)! 8 The Day when secrets will be put on trial, 9 So man will neither have any strength nor any aide. 10 By the rotating heavens 11 and the earth, bursting forth with plants! 12 Indeed the Qur’an is a decisive Word. 13 And is not a matter of amusement. 14 Verily they are plotting a plot. 15 And I am plotting a plot. 16 Therefore give them some respite – give them some time. 17
