The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the heaven and the night-comer 1 And what shall teach thee what is the night-star? 2 (It is a nightly radiant star). 3 [for] no human being has been left unguarded. 4 Let man reflect on what he was created from. 5 He was created from spurting fluid, 6 Proceeding from between the back-bone and the ribs, 7 Verily He is Able to restore him, 8 On the Day when man's deepest secrets shall be put to the test 9 So man will neither have any strength nor any aide. 10 By the sky with its returning rain, 11 And [by] the earth which cracks open, 12 BEHOLD, this [divine writ] is indeed a word that distinguishes between truth and falsehood, 13 it is no merriment. 14 They are hatching up a plot, 15 But I am planning a plan. 16 so bear with those who deny the truth, and let them be for a little while. 17
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
