Al-Taareq
The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the sky, and by the nightly comer! 1 And what shall make thee know that which the night-comer is? 2 The star of piercing brightness; 3 There is not a soul that does not have a guardian over it. 4 So let man look - from what is he created. 5 He was created from a fluid, ejected, 6 emanating from between the loins and the ribs. 7 He certainly has the power to bring him back to life. 8 A day when the secrets will be examined. 9 and he shall have no strength, no helper. 10 By the sky (having rain clouds) which gives rain, again and again. 11 and the earth, bursting forth with plants! 12 Behold this is the Word that distinguishes (Good from Evil): 13 it is no merriment. 14 They are hatching up a plot, 15 and so am I: 16 Therefore respite the unbelievers, and delay them for a while. 17
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
