The Comet (Al-Taareq)

17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)

In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful

By the heaven and the Morning Star 1 And what can make you know what is the night comer? 2 It is the shining star -- 3 [for] no human being has ever been left unguarded. 4 So let man observe from what he was created. 5 he was created of gushing water 6 Proceeding from between the backbone and the ribs: 7 Surely (Allah) is able to bring him back (to life)! 8 On the day when hidden thoughts shall be searched out. 9 Then will (man) have no power, nor any helper. 10 By the heaven with its recurring cycle of rain, 11 and by the earth bursting with vegetation; 12 It is surely a decisive utterance; 13 And it is no joke. 14 They (disbelievers) plot every evil plan, 15 and so am I: 16 So allow time for the disbelievers. Leave them awhile. 17

God Almighty has spoken the truth.
