The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
I swear by the heaven and the comer by night; 1 And what could make thee conceive what it is that comes in the night? 2 (It is) the piercing star. 3 There is not a soul that does not have a guardian over it. 4 Now let man but think from what he is created! 5 He was created from a fluid, ejected, 6 Coming from between the back and the ribs. 7 Verily, (Allah) is Able to bring him back (to life)! 8 on the Day when all secrets will be laid bare, 9 he will have no power, nor anyone to help him. 10 By the rotating heavens 11 And by the Earth which opens out (for the gushing of springs or the sprouting of vegetation),- 12 this (Qur'an) is surely a decisive Word, 13 And is not a matter of amusement. 14 They are hatching up a plot, 15 and I am cunningly devising. 16 Therefore grant a delay to the Unbelievers: Give respite to them gently (for awhile). 17
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
