The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ EXTOL the limitless glory of thy Sustainer's name: [the glory of] the Al-Highest, 1 Who hath created, and further, given order and proportion; 2 And Who hath disposed and then guided, 3 and who brings forth herbage, 4 then made it dry dark, flaky stubble, 5 WE SHALL teach thee, and thou wilt not forget [aught of what thou art taught,] 6 save what God wills; surely He knows what is spoken aloud and what is hidden. 7 And We will make your way smooth to a state of ease. 8 Therefore advise, if advising is beneficial. 9 in mind will keep it he who stands in awe [of God,] 10 And the wretched shunneth it. 11 Who will burn in the terrible Fire, 12 In which they will then neither die nor live. 13 To happiness [in the life to come] will indeed attain he who attains to purity [in this world,] 14 And who mentioned the name of his Lord, then offered prayer. 15 But you prefer the worldly life, 16 and the world to come is better, and more enduring. 17 Surely, this is in the ancient Scrolls, 18 Writs of Ibrahim and Musa. 19
