Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Have you received the news of the Enveloper? 1 [Some] faces, that Day, will be humbled, 2 Toiling, weary, 3 Scorched by burning fire, 4 Made to drink water from the boiling hot spring. 5 There is no food for them except thorns of fire. 6 Which doth not nourish nor release from hunger. 7 Faces on that Day shall be delighted, 8 well pleased with their striving, 9 In a lofty garden, 10 where they will hear no idle talk, 11 Therein will be a running spring, 12 and raised couches, 13 Goblets placed (ready), 14 and arranged cushions 15 And carpets spread around. 16 Do they not then ponder how the clouds were formed; 17 and on the sky, how it is raised aloft, 18 And the mountains: how they were fixed? 19 And the earth – how it has been spread out? 20 Admonish thou then; thou art but an admonisher. 21 You are not over them a controller. 22 Except whoever turns away and disbelieves – 23 Then Allah will punish him with the greatest punishment. 24 Indeed only towards Us is their return 25 Then verily on Us is their reckoning. 26
