Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Has the news of the overwhelming event reached you? 1 Faces on that Day shall be downcast, 2 Labouring, wearied out, 3 about to enter a glowing fire, 4 Given to drink of a spring fiercely boiling. 5 no food for them but cactus thorn 6 Which will neither nourish nor satisfy hunger. 7 Some faces on that Day will be radiant, 8 with their striving well-pleased, 9 In a lofty Paradise. 10 Never hearing idle talk. 11 There is a stream of running water in it; 12 In which are high thrones. 13 And goblets set at hand 14 and cushions ranged, 15 and well spread carpets. 16 Do (these unbelievers) not observe the camels: how they were created? 17 And the heaven, how it is reared aloft, 18 And the mountains, how they were fixed; 19 And at the Earth, how it is spread out? 20 Then remind them! Thou art only a reminder; 21 You are not a warden over them, 22 As for those who turn their back and disbelieve, 23 Allah will chastise him with the greatest chastisement. 24 Indeed, to Us is their return. 25 In Our hands are their accounts. 26
