Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Hath there come unto thee the story of the Enveloping Event? 1 Many faces will be contrite on that day, 2 be toiling and worn-out; 3 (Yet) Going into the blazing fire. 4 Made to drink from a boiling spring. 5 There is no food for them except thorns of fire. 6 unfattening, unappeasing hunger. 7 (Whereas other) faces on that Day will be joyful, 8 well-pleased with their striving. 9 They shall be in a Garden lofty: 10 wherein they will not hear any vain talk. 11 Therein will be a bubbling spring: 12 In which are high thrones. 13 And cups set at hand. 14 And cushions ranged! 15 And carpets ready spread, 16 So do they not see the camel – how it has been created? 17 and on the sky, how it is raised aloft, 18 And at the mountains, how they are rooted and fixed firm? 19 And at the earth, how it is outspread? 20 So, [O Prophet] exhort them: your task is only to exhort, 21 Thou art not over them a warden. 22 But whoever will turn away (from the Truth), 23 will be punished by God with the greatest punishment. 24 Verily, to Us will be their return; 25 Then surely upon Us is the taking of their account. 26
