Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)

Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Has the news of the overwhelming event reached you? 1 [Some] faces, that Day, will be humbled, 2 Laboring, toiling, 3 They will suffer the heat of the blazing fire 4 They will be given to drink from a boiling spring, 5 No food will there be for them but a bitter Dhari' 6 which neither sustains, nor satisfy hunger. 7 (Other) faces that Day will be joyful, 8 with their striving well-pleased, 9 In a high Garden 10 Wherein you shall not hear vain talk. 11 There is a stream of running water in it; 12 Therein will be thrones raised high, 13 And chosen goblets. 14 cushions ranged, 15 and outspread carpets. 16 Do they never reflect on the camels and how they were created, 17 And at the heaven, how it is raised? 18 And the mountains – how they have been established? 19 And the earth: how it was spread out? 20 Therefore do thou give admonition, for thou art one to admonish. 21 Thou art not at all a warder over them. 22 However, he who turns away and disbelieves - 23 In which case he will be punished by God with the severest punishment. 24 Verily unto Us is their return. 25 Then indeed only upon Us is their reckoning. 26

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
