Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
HAS THERE COME unto thee the tiding of the Overshadowing Event? 1 On that Day, there shall be downcast faces, 2 Travailing, worn. 3 They will [enter to] burn in an intensely hot Fire. 4 The while they are given, to drink, of a boiling hot spring, 5 For them there will be no food except from a poisonous, thorny plant 6 Which will neither nourish nor avail against hunger. 7 [Other] faces, that Day, will show pleasure. 8 Well-pleased because of their striving, 9 They will be in a lofty Garden 10 wherein thou wilt hear no empty talk. 11 Within it is a flowing spring. 12 raised couches, 13 And drinking-cups ready placed, 14 And cushions ranged 15 And linen spread out. 16 Then do they not look at the camels - how they are created? 17 And at the Sky, how it is raised high?- 18 And the mountains: how they were fixed? 19 and on the earth, how it is spread out? 20 Remind them, for thou art but a remembrancer, 21 You are not at all a guardian over them. 22 As for those who turn their back and disbelieve, 23 So Allah will mete out to him the greatest punishment. 24 Surely to Us is their turning back, 25 Then surely upon Us is the taking of their account. 26
God Almighty has spoken the truth.

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
