Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Hath there come unto thee the story of the Enveloping Event? 1 Some faces that Day shall be downcast with fear, 2 Labouring (hard), weary,- 3 they shall burn in a Scorching Fire; 4 They will be given drink from a boiling spring. 5 They will have no food other than bitter and thorny fruit 6 unfattening, unappeasing hunger. 7 However, on that day the faces of other people will be happy. 8 Well-pleased with their endeavour, 9 In a high Garden. 10 hearing there no babble; 11 A gushing fountain shall be there 12 raised couches, 13 And goblets set at hand 14 and cushions arrayed in rows, 15 And carpets ready spread, 16 Will they not regard the camels, how they are created? 17 And the heavens, how it was raised high; 18 And the mountains, how they are firmly fixed, 19 and on the earth, how it is spread out? 20 Then remind them! Thou art only a reminder; 21 Thou art not over them a warden. 22 But whoso is averse and disbelieveth, 23 Then Allah will punish him with the greatest punishment. 24 To Us is surely their returning; 25 then upon Us shall rest their reckoning. 26
