Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Has the news of the overwhelming event reached you? 1 Some faces, that Day, will be humiliated, 2 laboring, wornout, 3 Entering into burning fire, 4 They will be given to drink from a boiling spring, 5 No food will there be for them but a bitter Dhari' 6 which will neither fatten them nor satisfy them. 7 (Other) faces that Day will be joyful, 8 Glad for their effort past, 9 in a garden sublime, 10 where they will hear no idle talk, 11 A gushing fountain shall be there 12 In which are high thrones. 13 And cups set at hand. 14 well-placed cushions, 15 and well spread carpets. 16 Do they not look at the camels, how they are created? 17 And at the sky, how it is raised aloft? 18 And the mountains, how they are firmly fixed, 19 And at the earth, how it is outspread? 20 Remind them, for thou art but a remembrancer, 21 You are not at all a guardian over them. 22 Except whoever turns away and disbelieves – 23 Allah will chastise him with the greatest chastisement. 24 Verily, to Us will be their return; 25 Then verily on Us is their reckoning. 26
