Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Hath there come unto thee the story of the Enveloping Event? 1 [Some] faces, that Day, will be humbled, 2 Labouring, wearied out, 3 they shall burn in a Scorching Fire; 4 watered at a boiling fountain, 5 no food for them except thorny plants 6 which will neither fatten them nor satisfy them. 7 (Whereas other) faces on that Day will be joyful, 8 well pleased with their striving, 9 In a high Garden. 10 wherein they will not hear any vain talk. 11 In it is a flowing spring. 12 And within it are couches placed on high, 13 and goblets laid out, 14 and cushions arrayed in rows, 15 and carpets spread out. 16 Do they not look at the camels, how they are created? 17 how heaven was lifted up, 18 And the mountains: how they were fixed? 19 how the earth was outstretched? 20 (Muhammad), preach; you are only a preacher. 21 Thou art not at all a warder over them. 22 As for those who turn their back and disbelieve, 23 Then Allah will punish him with the greatest punishment. 24 Surely to Us is their return; 25 Then indeed only upon Us is their reckoning. 26
Almighty God's Truth.
