Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Has there come to you the narration of the overwhelming (i.e. the Day of Resurrection); 1 Faces on that Day shall be downcast, 2 Labouring (hard in the worldly life by worshipping others besides Allah), weary (in the Hereafter with humility and disgrace). 3 The while they enter the Blazing Fire,- 4 Drinking from a boiling spring, 5 no food for them except thorny plants 6 Which will neither nourish nor satisfy hunger. 7 Faces on that Day shall be delighted, 8 Glad for their effort past, 9 They shall be in a Garden lofty: 10 Wherein they will hear no unsuitable speech. 11 Therein shall be a spring running! 12 [and] there will be thrones [of happiness] raised high, 13 and prepared goblets, 14 and cushions ranged, 15 And carpets spread around. 16 Do (these unbelievers) not observe the camels: how they were created? 17 And the heaven, how it is raised? 18 how the mountains are set firm, 19 And the earth, how it is spread? 20 Therefore remind, you are only a Reminder. 21 You do not have full control over them. 22 But whoever turns back and denies the truth, 23 Him Allah shall torment with the greatest torment. 24 Verily unto Us is their return. 25 Then surely upon Us is the taking of their account. 26
