Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Certainly the news of the calamity that will overwhelm has come to you! 1 On that Day, there shall be downcast faces, 2 Laboring, toiling, 3 (Yet) Going into the blazing fire. 4 They will be given drink from a boiling spring. 5 No food for them save bitter thorn-fruit 6 Neither nourishing nor banishing hunger. 7 [And] some faces will on that Day shine with bliss, 8 Well-pleased with their endeavour, 9 They shall be in a Garden lofty: 10 In which they will not hear any lewd speech. 11 with a flowing spring, 12 and raised couches, 13 and goblets set at hand, 14 And arranged carpets. 15 And rich carpets spread. 16 Then do they not look at the camels - how they are created? 17 And at the Sky, how it is raised high?- 18 how the mountains are set firm, 19 And at the earth, how it is outspread? 20 (Muhammad), preach; you are only a preacher. 21 thou canst not compel them [to believe]. 22 But whoso is averse and disbelieveth, 23 Then Allah will punish him with the greatest punishment. 24 for behold, unto Us will be their return, 25 Then verily on Us is their reckoning. 26
