Dawn (Al-Fajr)
30 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Night (Al-Layl) before The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the dawn, 1 And the Ten Nights, 2 The multiple and the one, 3 And [by] the night when it passes, 4 Is there [not] in [all] that an oath [sufficient] for one of perception? 5 Have you not heard of how your Lord dealt with the tribe of 'Ad, 6 of the columned (city) of Iram, 7 the like of which was never created in the countries? 8 And with (the tribe of) Thamud, who clove the rocks in the valley; 9 and Pharaoh, he of the tent-pegs, 10 [All of] whom oppressed within the lands 11 And multiplied iniquity therein? 12 Therefore did thy Lord pour on them a scourge of diverse chastisements: 13 for, verily, thy Sustainer is ever on the watch! 14 As for the human being, when his Lord tests him, honors him, and grants him bounty, he says, "God has honored me". 15 whereas, whenever He tries him by straitening his means of livelihood, he says, "My Sustainer has disgraced me!" 16 Nay! But you treat not the orphans with kindness and generosity (i.e. you neither treat them well, nor give them their exact right of inheritance)! 17 or urge one another to feed the destitute? 18 And you devour (others') inheritance greedily, 19 and you love wealth with boundless love! 20 Nay! when the earth is made to crumble to pieces, 21 And when the command of your Lord comes and the angels row by row, 22 And hell is brought near that day; on that day man will remember, but how will the remembrance (then avail him)? 23 He will say, "Would that I had done some good deeds for this life". 24 On that Day no one will punish as He punishes, 25 And His bonds will be such as none (other) can bind. 26 O thou peaceful soul! 27 return unto thy Lord, well-pleased, well-pleasing! 28 Enter among My servants 29 Enter My Paradise." 30
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
