The Town (Al-Balad)
20 verses, revealed in Mecca after Q (Qaaf) before The Comet (Al-Taareq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ No! I swear by this land, 1 And you shall be made free from obligation in this city-- 2 And by the begetter and that which he begat, 3 Verily We have created man into toil and struggle. 4 Deemest he that none will overpower him? 5 He says: “I have squandered enormous wealth.” 6 Does he think that none has observed him? 7 Have We not made for him a pair of eyes?- 8 a tongue, and two lips, 9 And showed him two highways (of good and evil)? 10 Yet he attempteth not the steep, 11 And what have you understood, what the valley is! 12 (It is) to free a slave, 13 Or the giving of food in a day of privation 14 The orphan near in relationship, 15 Or to the poor man lying in the dust. 16 the believers who cooperate with others in patience (steadfastness) and kindness. 17 These are the people of the right. 18 and [as for] those who are bent on denying the truth of Our revelations, they are the people of the left hand, 19 On them is fire closed over. 20
Almighty Allah's Truth.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
