The Sun (Al-Shams)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the sun and its heat and brightness, 1 by the moon, which follows it, 2 And the day when it shows it, 3 and by the night as it envelopes the sun; 4 by the heavens and that (Power) which established them, 5 by the earth and that (Power) which spread it out 6 by the soul and Who shaped it 7 Then He showed him what is wrong for him and what is right for him; 8 He who nourishes it will surely be successful, 9 and those who corrupt their souls will certainly be deprived (of happiness). 10 The tribe of Thamud denied with rebellion. 11 When the basest of them broke forth 12 Then Allah's Messenger warned them: “Hands off the she-camel and her drink!” 13 But they denied him and hamstrung her. So their Lord brought down upon them destruction for their sin and made it equal [upon all of them]. 14 He does not fear the consequence. 15
