The Night (Al-Layl)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the night enshrouding 1 and by the day when it unveils. 2 And by Who created the male and female, 3 Verily your endeavour is diverse. 4 As for him who gave out his wealth (for Allah's sake) and abstained (from disobeying Him), 5 And believes in the best [reward], 6 We shall surely ease him to the Path of Easing; 7 But as for one who is miserly and unheeding, 8 and rejects what is right, 9 We shall facilitate the path to affliction 10 nor will his wealth profit him when he falls [into the pit]. 11 Indeed guiding is upon Us. 12 And verily unto Us (belong) the End and the Beginning. 13 So, I warn you of the blazing Fire. 14 in which none shall be roasted except the most wretched sinner, 15 who have rejected the (Truth) and have turned away from it. 16 He will be far away from the most pious. (The first Caliph S. Abu Bakr Siddiq) 17 who spend for the cause of God and purify themselves. 18 And who hath no favour from anyone to recompense. 19 But only the desire to seek for the Countenance of their Lord Most High; 20 And he shall soon be well-pleased. 21
