The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the Night as it conceals (the light); 1 And [by] the day when it appears 2 And the creating of the male and the female, 3 your striving is indeed to different ends! 4 We shall facilitate the path to bliss 5 And believed the best matter to be true 6 Surely We will ease his way unto the state of ease. 7 And for him who hoarded wealth and remained carefree, 8 And rejects goodness, 9 Surely We will ease his way unto adversity. 10 And his substance will avail him not when he perisheth. 11 Lo! Ours it is (to give) the guidance 12 and to Us belong the hereafter and the worldly life. 13 Therefor have I warned you of the flaming Fire 14 [the fire] which none shall have to endure but that most hapless wretch 15 Who give the lie to Truth and turn their backs. 16 and from which the cautious shall be distanced. 17 Who giveth away his substance that he may be cleansed, 18 And have in his mind no favour from anyone for which a reward is expected in return, 19 Except as seeking (to fulfil) the purpose of his Lord Most High. 20 and he shall surely be satisfied. 21
God the Almighty always says the truth.
