The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the night enshrouding 1 And by oath of the day when it shines 2 And by Who created the male and female, 3 surely your strivings are divergent. 4 So he who gives (in charity) and fears (Allah), 5 for those who spend for the cause of God, 6 We shall surely ease him to the Path of Easing; 7 And for him who hoarded wealth and remained carefree, 8 And gives the lie to the best,- 9 We shall surely ease for him the Path of Hardship (the Fire). 10 When he falls (into Hell), his wealth will not help him. 11 Indeed, [incumbent] upon Us is guidance. 12 and to Us belong the Next Life and the present. 13 So, I warn you of the blazing Fire. 14 in which no one will suffer forever except the wicked ones 15 Who give the lie to Truth and turn their backs. 16 But those most devoted to Allah shall be removed far from it,- 17 Who giveth away his substance that he may be cleansed, 18 not as payment for any favours that he received, 19 seeking only the Face of his Lord, the Most High, 20 And indeed, soon he will be very pleased. 21
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
