The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By oath of the night when it covers 1 and the day in splendour 2 And Him Who hath created male and female, 3 your striving is indeed to different ends! 4 As for him who gave out his wealth (for Allah's sake) and abstained (from disobeying Him), 5 And testifieth to the Good, 6 for him shall We make easy the path towards [ultimate] ease. 7 But as for he who withholds and considers himself free of need 8 and he belied the finest 9 We will make smooth for him the path for evil; 10 And his wealth will not avail him when he perishes. 11 Indeed guiding is upon Us. 12 And lo! unto Us belong the latter portion and the former. 13 and so I warn you of the raging fire 14 [the fire] which none shall have to endure but that most hapless wretch 15 He who denieth and turneth away. 16 And Al-Muttaqun (the pious and righteous - see V. 2:2) will be far removed from it (Hell). 17 Who giveth away his substance that he may be cleansed, 18 And none hath with him any favour for reward, 19 Except the seeking of the pleasure of his Lord, the Most High. 20 And soon will they attain (complete) satisfaction. 21
Almighty Allah's Truth.
